6 Mil: Short season / Use on trial basis to see if it works 8 Mil: Standard / full season /under plastic or along rows 10 Mil: Overwinter / rocky soil / more insect resistance. 15 Mil: Multi-season for small fruits, etc. overwintering
Choosing a tape flow rate:
The main thing to consider is the row length. Also consider: type of crop, zone/field size, available water and supply line size. For rolling fields we recommend Flow Control tape. 4" 1.0: for greenhouses, germinating beds, for row crops in sandy soils, up to 300' level rows. 6 - 8": for row crops in lighter soil, up to 500' level row 12" .45: standard for row crops, up to 600' level rows. 12" .34: for row crops, larger zones, to 800' level rows. 16" .25 or 12" .22: for row crops, to 1000' level rows. Downhill sloping fields allow longer lengths.
